During my eight years as Washington's Attorney General, I worked with hundreds of legislators. I saw the characteristics that make effective state representatives: intelligence, hard work, compassion, humility, and grit. I see all that in Paul Graves, and that's why I'm proud to support him.
Paul has the background to make an outstanding representative--and I'm not just saying that because he's an attorney at the same law firm where I started my career. His dedicated pro bono work for foster children--earning him the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award from King County's leading foster youth advocacy organization--shows that he has the compassion and dedication to fight for the most vulnerable in our state. His service as a founding board member of one of the state's first public charter schools has prepared him to tackle the critical education funding and reform challenges, to ensure that every child in Washington gets an excellent education.
Paul has also run an excellent race. He has personally knocked on more than 18,500 doors and called more than 5,200 voters, spending months of events and weekends listening to the citizens he seeks to represent. He has earned the endorsements of the Seattle Times, the Issaquah Press, the League of Education Voters, and a host of statewide and local elected officials. He has done it all in a positive way, not resorting to cheap tactics.
And with less than a week to go, he needs one last show of support. As with every quality candidate, Paul has been under attack. His opponent has sent mail to voters calling him "extreme", which is laughable if you actually know Paul. He needs every dollar to make sure that voters who don't yet know him can hear about his positive vision for the state. Will you consider one last contribution of $250, $100, or even $20 to make sure Paul can finish his race strong?
With your help, I'm confident Paul will win, and will make an outstanding state representative.
All my best,
