After the first "ballot dump" yesterday, we had received 47.17% of the vote in a three-candidate race. I'm thrilled, humbled, and relieved.
I just want to take a moment to thank YOU. For the past six months, I've worked as hard as I can to deliver my message to any and all voters who will listen. But I know that my efforts are in vein without the love, prayer, and support of people like you.
It's not lost on me that I'm asking a lot. I have asked you for campaign contributions, to walk in parades with me, to knock on doors, to put up signs in your yards, and to make phone calls—and you responded with more support than I would have imagined. So for all of you who have sacrificed your time or your hard-earned money, I can't thank you enough.
Later this evening, we'll get more primary results, and I'll share my thoughts on Facebook and Twitter.
As we look forward to the next three months, my commitment to you will remain the same: I promise to run a positive, issues-driven campaign, built off the grassroots support of people like you.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
